Waterton hires William Aguiar as associate general counsel
Waterton announced the hiring of William Aguiar as associate general counsel in Chicago. In his role, he will work closely with Waterton’s general counsel and legal team, providing legal leadership and strategic advice to management and assisting with all corporate legal and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining Waterton, Aguiar worked for the city of Chicago for over 17 years. He began his career with the city as an attorney in the constitutional and commercial litigation division of the Department of Law, focusing on land use and zoning litigation. He subsequently served as a deputy commissioner, chief operating officer and general counsel for the city’s Department of Planning & Development and most recently as the administrative deputy for the city’s Department of Law, managing its daily operations.
