Copyright legal expert Suzanne Wilson joins the U.S. Copyright Office 

The U.S. Copyright Office has appointed Suzanne Wilson (pictured) as general counsel and associate register of copyrights, effective January 31st. 

In her new role, Wilson will be responsible for an extensive portfolio of regulatory, litigation and policy matters for the office. 

Wilson most recently served as deputy general counsel for The Walt Disney Co., where she oversaw the company’s intellectual property and interactive and media legal functions, including a range of complex copyright issues. She stepped down in February 2020 after eight years in the role. 

Wilson previously practiced as partner for more than a decade at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, as well as Blanc Williams Johnston & Kronstadt. Earlier in her career she served as associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. Prior to that, she was a law clerk for a Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
