Spotify has hired Eve Konstan as general counsel

Spotify, the fast-growing podcasting and streaming audio platform, has recruited Eve Konstan as its new general counsel. She joins the company after spending more than 20 years with broadcast giant HBO, where she was EVP & General Counsel before leaving in March last year. Afterwards, Konstan had joined WarnerMedia as EVP & General Counsel, before leaving that role in October 2019.

She takes over from Horacio Gutierrez, a longtime in-house lawyer at Microsoft who joined Spotify as general counsel in 2016. He was upped to a new role as Head of Global Affairs & Chief Legal Officer at the company in Q4 2019. At Spotify, Konstan will provide support on legal issues including content licensing, business development, m&a, intellectual property, litigation and risk management. She will be based in New York and report to Gutierrez, who commented in a LinkedIn post he was «thrilled» to welcome Konstan to Spotify.
