Software vet Eleanor Lacey goes to work for workplace management platform Asana

Workplace management software company Asana has hired industry veteran Eleanor Lacey as its general counsel. As such, Lacey will oversee Asana’s legal department including all areas of privacy, compliance, IP, and commercial. Asana was founded by Facebook alums Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and ex-Google-and-Facebook engineer Justin Rosenstein in 2008, and its name is Sanskrit for “yoga pose.”

Before her hire, Lacey was chief legal officer for the cyber security software company Sophos. And before that, Lacey led the legal teams for such B2B and B2C companies including SurveyMonkey, Corel Corpo. and Niku Corp. She is an executive member of Hipower and serves on the advisory council of the Women’s General Counsel Network. Lacey received her JD from Yale Law School and her BA in English and History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst
