Simona Levi joins Vedanta Biosciences as chief legal officer

Vedanta Biosciences, a clinical-stage company that is developing a potential new category of oral therapies based on defined bacterial consortia and a founded entity of PureTech Health, has appointed Simona Levi (pictured) as chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

 

Levi, who holds a B.A. in biochemistry and economics, a Ph.D. in biochemistry as well as a J.D., spent more than 25 years working as legal counsel for corporate and intellectual property matters in the life sciences industry. Her most recent appointment was as general counsel and corporate secretary for Cell Signaling Technology, managing all legal matters including assisting with the formation of the company’s global subsidiaries and structuring all financial transactions. Before joining Cell Technology for almost 15 years, she was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery. Levi served as Director of Neurology at Biogen for 3 months and Senior IP counsel at Ivax Pharmaceuticals prior to that. Earlier in her career, she was a technology specialist as well as associate & junior partner with Hale & Dorr.
