Sevi promoted to GC spot at Marsh & McLennan’s Guy Carpenter division
Marsh & McLennan announced that Michael Sevi has been promoted to the slot of general counsel and chief compliance officer of its Guy Carpenter company. It’s effective immediately. Sevi succeeds Michael Borik, who has been the GC of Guy Carpenter for the past four years, and will be moving into a joint business and legal role as managing director and chief counsel of the company’s Global Capital Solutions Group.
Sevi now reports to Peter Hearn, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter, and Peter Beshar, executive VP and general counsel of Marsh & McLennan.
Sevi joined Marsh & McLennan in 2014 as a senior compliance office. Throughout the past five years, he has had various roles, most recently as chief compliance officer of Guy Carpenter and deputy CCO of Marsh & McLennan. Before joining Marsh & McLennan, Sevi was a litigation associate at Hogan Lovells and DLA Piper.
“Michael’s knowledge of the reinsurance industry, public and private sector experience and track record of delving into our most complex issues make him the ideal legal and compliance leader for Guy Carpenter,” said Hearn.
Sevi graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School.
