Sarita Venkat left Apple for Cisco
Sarita Venkat, founder of the “Heels of Justice” podcast, has departed as head of global intellectual property transactions at Apple to join Cisco.
At Cisco Venkat will serve as vice president and deputy general counsel of global litigation.
During her time in Apple she litigated patent and complex commercial cases across the globe and served as a business and legal adviser on litigation involving regulatory, privacy, compliance and dispute resolution issues. Venkat had been head of global intellectual property transactions at Apple since 2019. There she managed complex deals while protecting Apple’s intellectual property portfolio.
She also co-launched the podcast “Heels of Justice” to highlight woman in the legal profession. Past guests include the top lawyers at Lyft and the Motion Picture Association of America.
Before joining Apple in 2011, Venkat managed intellectual property litigation for Abbott Park, Illinois-based health care company Abbott Laboratories.
