As reported by Law.com, Salesforce has promoted Todd Machtmes (pictured) to general counsel. Currently executive vice president in Salesforce’s commercial legal department, Machtmes, who joined Salesforce’s legal team in 2005, will begin in his new role Feb. 1. He served more than seven years as an associate general counsel at Salesforce and more than five years as senior corporate counsel, according to his LinkedIn profile. “I’m so honored and grateful to be part of such an incredible team and company“, he also commented on LinkedIn.
Machtmes will replace Amy Weaver, Salesforce’s president and general counsel, who in December was named new chief financial officer. She joined the San Francisco-based company in 2013 as senior vice president and general counsel. The changes in the executive come as Salesforce works on closing its largest acquisition to date, its $27.7 billion acquisition of Slack. The deal is expected to close by the end of July, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals.
