Renovia gives its general counsel a promotion and some new duties

Renovia Inc., a Boston-based company delivering therapeutic and diagnostic devices for women with pelvic floor disorders, has promoted Jim O’Connor (in the photo above) to general counsel and senior vice president, strategic development.

O’Connor has been the company’s general counsel since February 2018. In his new role, his responsibilities will expand to include corporate business development, manufacturing, program management and overseeing Renovia’s finance team. He will also assist in identifying and implementing programs to improve organizational efficiency and execution.

Prior to joining Renovia, Mr. O’Connor worked for 12 years at United Technologies Corp. (UTC), a Fortune 100 company, in legal and business roles of increasing responsibility. Mr. O’Connor began his legal career at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, where his practice focused on securities law, mergers and acquisitions and licensing transactions for private and publicly traded technology companies. Mr. O’Connor received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 1999.

“Jim has shown remarkable judgment and versatility, and has become a key cross-functional leader,” said Marc Beer, co-founder, chairman and CEO in a statement. “In his Strategic Development role, Jim will partner with the entire Renovia team to develop and implement strategies to maximize return on investments across our technology portfolio.”
