Plaid hires new general counsel: Meredith Fuchs 

Meredith Fuchs (pictured) is the new general counsel of Plaid Inc, the startup that Visa Inc agreed to buy for $5.3 billion.

In the role she’ll grow the company’s legal team from its current size of about 12. Plaid had been searching for a general counsel since spring 2019, when its former top lawyer Benjamin Lee left for social media company Reddit.

Fuchs worked more than four years at Capital One as chief regulatory counseland was responsible for advising the entire company on banking laws and consumer finance regulations.
Before that, she was general counsel of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Earlier, Fuchs worked at Washington D.C. law firm Wiley Rein.
