PDC brings its outside general counsel in from the cold to be its on-staff GC
Beauty and wellness company PDC Brands has hired Matthew Wagner (pictured) as general counsel. Wagner isn’t exactly an unknown quantity to PDC; he’s served as its outside general counsel and secretary. As an in-house GC, Wagner will be responsible for all of PDC’s legal matters, will report directly to CEO James Stammer.
Wagner has more than 20 years of experience in private practice, focused on intellectual property, federal litigation, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. And he’s got deep experience with the company, having served as a nonexecutive secretary to the company’s board of directors. Before joining PDC, Wagner was a partner at the Stamford-based law firm Diserio Martin, where he chaired the firm’s intellectual property practice group. Wagner is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), where he is on the board of directors and served as chair of the Copyright Law Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
“We are excited to add Matt to PDC’s talented management team. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Matt for almost a decade in his role as outside general counsel to our company,” said CEO Stammer in a statement. “He has proven time and again to be a trusted advisor whose expertise and leadership qualities will be of great value to our team.”
