Jean Traub appointed as General Counsel of Marlette Holdings
Marlette Holdings, a financial technology company that operates the Best Egg financial platform, has promoted Jean Traub to general counsel. Traub has been Marlette’s deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer since 2016. During this past years she has played a pivotal role in maturing the company’s legal and compliance program.
She takes over as general counsel from Frank Borchert, who will stay at the holdings company as chief legal and administrative officer. Traub will report to him.
“Jean has a remarkable breadth of experience and business knowledge,” Marlette Holdings CEO Jeffrey Meiler said. “She is the right person to drive Marlette’s legal and compliance functions as the company evolves and rapidly grows.”
Founded in 2014, the online lender Best Egg, has serviced or delivered more than $17 billion in consumer loans. As with many online lenders, loans are usually approved within one business day and deposited directly into client bank accounts.
Before joining Marlette, Traub spent over 25 years in private practice covering a wide variety of legal and compliance roles. At Capital One, where she spent 16 years, she was chief counsel.
“I am excited to serve as Marlette’s general counsel. I look forward to working with Marlette’s leadership team to support the company’s commitment to inspiring consumer financial confidence and its continued success through robust legal and compliance practices.” she said.
