Boeing general counsel Grant Dixton joins Activision Blizzard
The video game and entertainment company Activision Blizzard announced in a securities filing its hire of Boeing general counsel Grant Dixton (pictured) as its new chief legal officer. Dixton succeeds Chris Walther, who is retiring effective June 14, 2021, after leading Activision’s legal department since 2009.
Dixton joined Boeing in 2006 as an Assistant General Counsel and worked his way up the legal department ladder to Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. He also was a member of Boeing council. Prior to Boeing, Dixton served in the White House as associate counsel to the president. As a member of the White House Judicial Selection Committee, he assisted in identifying and evaluating candidates for federal judgeships. Earlier in his career, Dixton practiced law at Kirkland & Ellis. He also served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of the United States and at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Dixton serves on the board of directors of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation.
