Goodwin Procter partner finds a new home as general counsel of HarborOne Bank
HarborOne Bank has named former Goodwin Procter partner Inez Friedman-Boyce as its new general counsel. In this position, the lawyer will be responsible for the oversight of all legal matters at HarborOne Bank, including managing SEC reporting and corporate governance related matters; maintaining bank policies and procedures; overseeing legal and regulatory compliance in all areas of the bank; and handling litigation and consumer complaints.
The bank said in a statement that Friedman-Boyce has more than 20 years of experience in corporate governance, disclosure, compliance, data privacy, internal investigations, dispute resolution, complex commercial and securities litigation and risk management. And it called her “a proven leader “on investigation, litigation, regulatory and transactional matters of all sizes, ranging from small amounts to several billion dollars. Through her experience, Inez has been a trusted advisor to corporate boards and management in the banking, financial services and high technology industries.
Friedman-Boyce has worked in both the public and private sectors. She began her career as an associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, and she served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex County (Boston) District Attorney’s Office. Most recently, she was a partner at Goodwin Procter for nearly 15 years, where she practiced securities and complex business litigation. Friedman-Boyce received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Amherst College and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
