Former FIFA chief compliance officer Edward Hanover joins Albertsons Companies

Edward Hanover (pictured), the former first-ever global chief compliance officer for international football organization FIFA has moved on to Albertsons Companies, a food and drug retailer in the United States. Hanover assumed the role of chief ethics and compliance officer. Albertsons general counsel Juliette Pryor, reached out to Hanover for help with modernizing the Albertsons’ compliance program.

 

Edward Hanover

Hanover started his legal career in 2000 as an associate with Dechert, followed by Reed Smith. He then transitioned into the corporate world, where he joined Novo Nordisk, healthcare company as their senior corporate counsel. During his tenure with Novo Nordisk, Hanover relocated to Zurich, where he spent four more years serving as regional general counsel and senior director, legal, compliance and business development. Further enhancing his international experience, Hanover moved to Singapore to work for Takeda Pharmaceuticals as their head of compliance, emerging markets. After which he returned to Zurich to assume the role of Global chief compliance officer with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), where he served for almost three years. Hanover then returned to the United States and joined Dla Piper as a partner.

Hanover is also a part-time adjunct professor at Georgetown university law center as well as on the board of visitors.
