Digital sales platform Kafene names its first GC
Digital sales New York based platform Kafene, fintech company with the goal of empowering flexible ownership solutions and bringing purchasing options to industries like furniture, appliances, and electronics, named last October Shujah Awan as its new general counsel. Awan, who worked at the blockchain company Roxe as chief legal officer and at the investment mangement firm CapVenture Partners as general counsel, will be leading the legal and compliance team of Kafene.
“It’s an exciting time at Kafene as we welcome several new members onto our executive
leadership team whose experience and vision will each serve as a force multiplier for us,” Neal
Desai, Kafene CEO, said in a statement. “In Shujah we now have a seasoned in-house legal expert with a demonstrated track record of helping lead early-stage fintech companies
mature and grow.”
Before chosing the in-house legal sector, Awan worked for seven years as associate at Whatley Drake & Kallas. He holds a bachelor’s in computer science from New Jersey Institute of Technology and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
