Vivid Seats appoints Trip Advisor’s David Morris as general counsel
Vivid Seats, a ticket resale marketplace, has appointed David Morris (pictured) as general counsel. In his new role, he will oversee the legal, compliance and government affairs function for Vivid Seats. Morris will also advise the senior leadership teams and the board of directors on all matters related to legal risks and compliance, as well as operational and strategic matters.
Morris joins Vivid Seats from TripAdvisor, where he served since 2008. During his tenure with TripAdvisor, Morris held a number of roles, the last of which was vice president and associate general counsel. Prior to that, he was a senior counsel at Invensys for 5 years and an attorney at Takeda Oncology for 2 years. Morris started his legal career as an attorney at WilmerHale law practice. He later joined Hinckley Alen & Snyder law firm as associate.
The appointment of Morris was announced along with another two key leadership positions. Chief operating officer and chief marketing officer, all of whom report directly to CEO Stan Chia. The new hires are joining the company in light of Vivid Seats going public through a merger with Horizon Acquisitions. The deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
