Daniel Trujillo leaves Walmart
Daniel Trujillo (pictured) Walmart’s top compliance lawyer left the company as executive vice president, global chief ethics and compliance officer.
After 30 years of working in approximately 60 countries, he has decided to take some time off to evaluate his next steps for the future.
Walmart’s chief legal officer, Rachel Brand, will lead the compliance function until the company names a new chief ethics and compliance officer.
Trujillo began working for Walmart in 2012 as the company’s chief compliance officer. In 2015, he was made chief ethics and compliance officer and in 2019 he was made executive vice president and global chief ethics and compliance officer. He took the place of Jay Jorgensen, who left the company to become general counsel and chief compliance officer of Coupang in South Korea. Before joining Walmart, he served as deputy general counsel and director of compliance at Schlumberger. He has also held in-house roles at Cargill and Impreglio.
