The conglomerate Cox Enterprises has named Sharon Zealeyas vice president, compliance of its units. As such, she’ll lead compliance strategy and data privacy across Cox’s three major subsidiaries: Cox Communications, Cox Automotive, and Cox Media Group. Zealeyas will lead such activities as Cox’s ethics hotline and she’ll lead sensitive internal investigations.
“We’re excited to have Sharon join Cox Enterprises and we know we’re a better team with her aboard,” said Juliette Pryor, senior VP, general counsel, and corporate secretary, in a statement.
Zealeyas has a long resume. She’s been an assistant U.S attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, Ohio’s deputy attorney general, and a commercial litigation partner in private practice. She also serves as chief ethics and compliance officer for The Coca-Cola Co. for seven years, which involved coordinating compliance efforts across 200 countries. Zealeyas earned here law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
