Compart Inc. picks its new GC from the transport sector

Paul Kirkpatrick has been appointed as chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Copart, online vehicle auction company, where he replaced Gregory DePasquale, who’s been the number one of the company’s law department for the past 25 years.

Kirkpatrick graduated by the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University and then served as a transactional and securities attorney at the Dallas-headquartered Haynes and Boone LLP; as general counsel at Texas-based Commercial Metals Co., and as chief legal officer at fleet management platform Omnitracs LLC, acquired by Solera Holdings Inc. in June 2021.

At the end of 2021 Kirkpatrick joined hydrogen production company BayoTech Inc. as head
of legal.
