Cameron Cohen named as general counsel for Block owned Square
Square, providers of business software and banking services for business owners, have appointed Cameron Cohen (pictured) as general counsel. He will join the Block owned company on March 17. In his new role, Cohen will report to Sivan Whiteley, the chief legal officer and corporate secretary of Block.
In a LinkedIn post this week, Cohen thanked the chief legal officer and others at Block and Square “who have trusted me with this opportunity to help sellers and help deliver on Square’s mission of economic empowerment.”
Cohen joins Block from Amazon, where he has been part of the in-house legal team for almost 12 years, most recently serving as vice president and associate general counsel, payments and real estate. Prior to that, he practiced law at Davis right Tremaine as well as Heller Ehrman.
