Cherwell appoints in-house pro to head global legal position
IT service software provider Cherwell Software LLC has hired Alison Alfers to be its new general counsel. She’ll report to Sam Gilliland, Cherwell’s chief executive officer, and will split her time between the privately held company’s headquarters in Colorado Springs and the company’s office in Denver. Alfers’ new job has a global dimension; Cherwell serves more than 1700 customers on five continents and works with such tech companies as HCL Technologies and Amazon Web Services.
Alfers, who’s got an extensive resume as an in-house attorney, joined Cherwell from satellite operator HawkEye 360, where she was its chief legal officer. Before that, Alfers was the CLO at TwentyEighty, Inc. She also served as senior vice president and general counsel for DigitalGlobe Inc. where she also held the position of vice president, defense and intelligence. Before DigitalGlobe, she served as GC at Knowledge Learning Corporation and SpaceImaging Inc.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alison to Cherwell,” said Gilliland. “Her deep experience in legal and business operations rooted in technical innovation will be vital to Cherwell as we continue to grow globally.”
